HISTORY
Please note that anything marked with a ** is headcanon. I will use this sparingly and only when canon lacks details. Weaknesses are combined with Abilities for those looking to get a leg up. His history can be found here. A deeper summary of the story can be found here.
MEDICAL
Abel is always taken after his reincarnation, but during canon, he's given an herb that vastly improves his health. If it's pre-herb, he's very sickly and unable to handle much physical exertion though he's training to improve his condition. After Abel eats the herb, he's roughly normal with perhaps a little more speed and strength than one might expect of his body.
PERSONALITY

Initially, Abel may seem jovial to the point of stupidity. He seems to hold little back when he speaks, and so often has a lot to say. Most characters in the series are a little annoyed at the size of his personality upon their first meeting with even long-time friends underestimating his mental abilities simply because it's buried beneath so many layers of silliness.
None of it is an act. Abel is a people pleaser not because he focuses on their feelings toward him but because he cares about their feelings in general. Who doesn't want to see other people happy? Abel is willing to sacrifice a lot for friends and strangers alike, and never cares for the cost to himself. Not only do we see him willingly die to save the kingdom, but he also shields the prince from physical harm using his own body. Since we get access to much of his thoughts, we can see that none of his actions are motivated by the desire to make friends.
He's also often used his unique knowledge to see beyond the obvious in people. As a child, the prince was seen as a monster due to his violent nature, but Abel saw the truth: he was no different than a small, wounded animal who struck out in fear of being hurt. He uses this same method - ascribing characteristics found in nature to humans - to predict several moves in the future as well, such as the Marquis unintentionally becoming more careful around a special item once others knew of it, inadvertently giving away its locations.
His genuinely stupid moments are often tied to his love of people. In some instances, Abel, normally much more observant than one would think, not only misses obvious cues when first meeting Karas and is unable to connect the bloodthirsty man to the prince, but he nearly twists reality to explain things that might connect the two. He'll also assign more positive attributes to Karas' actions than can really be explained. This may be partially explained by his role of True Regas as he doesn't seem to have this issue with other people.
Abel also displays moments of naivety, most often around romance and intimacy. He isn't someone who will miss obvious overtones, but he has no experience and not a lot of obvious desire to be intimate with someone. He sincerely assumes that 'using his body to get close to the prince' means hoping the prince will like him more for being pretty. His awareness of his new body changes a bit as the story progresses, but his heart still beats especially hard at even the simplest of kisses.
For all the gaps in his knowledge, Abel shows traits that prove he's meant to help the monarch in ways unrelated to his body. Abel is much more perceptive than he initially comes across. While it seems he's bumbling through a situation simply trying his best, the truth is he's likely already a step ahead. Sometimes, this is simply because of the attention he pays to those around him but in others, it's an impressive ability to connect seemingly unrelated dots. The easiest example to reference is his ability to narrow down the location of a pendant several different factions are seeking.
Another quality is his willingness to make hard decisions for the right reasons. After his first assumed death, Abel doesn't immediately return to Karas' side. In his first life, he mistakenly assumes he set things up well enough that his death didn't matter, but he soon learns that he can easily be used against the prince. After overhearing a conversation that leads him away in search of further clues and the realization of his own importance, Abel decides not to return until he can help even the field despite his deep longing to be with Karas. This is on display again when he lies to the prince about having amnesia because Karas would be too dangerous if he thought Abel had willingly stayed gone for any reason.
A third quality is his residence. Abel isn't an unfeeling machine and we see him momentarily crack several times, but after a reprieve, he pushes forward. At the death of his master, it seemed he wasn't even going to allow himself a moment to mourn but he later cries for his beloved caretaker. Abel endures a lot throughout the story but never does he stop believing in a solution no matter the improbability of any situation.
From the patience on display when helping a child Karas to the sense of duty he felt to the butler after inhabiting Li's body, Abel is the right combination of empathetic, smart, and strong to rightfully sit as the True Regas, but beneath it all, he's a poor born raised modestly with a love of the simple things. Abel feels most at home in the forest and considers those things found in nature to be the most beautiful things. He truly sees the world as one whole, and he's happy to be one piece of a larger picture.
APPEARANCE

Aside from occasionally wearing a cloak, he suffers from anime clothing and is always wearing the same outfit.

MISCELLANEOUS
Family: Father (deceased), Mother ( deceased), unnamed siblingsThis is Abel's appearance before his death; though his looks have changed, his personality has stayed the same.
Before reincarnation, Abel is considered unattractive with his face often being compared to a bandit's. This is unusual because, throughout history, Regas has always been beautiful which is just one hint that he was always meant to be reborn into his current form. Also, despite being canonically more attractive now, Karas wishes he had a chance to be with the old Abel as his physical condition was much better.
Abel's training used to involve running from boars and climbing cliffs. In his new body, he also tried to train in the same way.
More than anything, he's terrified of wolf-spiders and will faint at the sight of them.
WARNINGS
Dark content. Click to expand
ATTEMPTED/SEXUAL ABUSE - Abel is attacked with the intent of assault several times throughout the story and though is he spared, there are a few others who aren't; this is very unlikely to be mentioned in conversation.
WAR/DEATH - While not necessarily something I'd normally earn for, but living in a board town means Abel was witness to a lot of death from a very young age. Abel isn't someone to talk about sad topics, but this may come up on occasion.
Cannibalism - The backstory of a character involves almost ritualistic cannbalism.

tldr;
loud, friendly, observant, determined, and empathetic; Abel may initially seem a bit too naive or ignorant, but he's much more intelligent and observant than meets the eye.
